Hide thumbnails, but fade large images

Hi

I would like to have a slideshow of large (950px wide) images, without the thumbnails or linked navigation underneath the large images. When I change thumbnails: true, to thumbnails: false, neither the large images nor the thumbnails show up. How can I achieve this?
